Genome sequence of the polychlorinated-biphenyl degrader Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707.
Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707 is a soil polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) degrader, able to grow both planktonically and as a biofilm in the presence of various toxic metals and metalloids. Here we report the genome sequence (5,957,359 bp) of P. pseudoalcaligenes KF707, which provides insights into metabolic degradation pathways, flagellar motility, and chemotaxis.
متن کاملBiphenyl Modulates the Expression and Function of Respiratory Oxidases in the Polychlorinated-Biphenyls Degrader Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707
Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707 is a soil bacterium which is known for its capacity to aerobically degrade harmful organic compounds such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) using biphenyl as co-metabolite. Here we provide the first genetic and functional analysis of the KF707 respiratory terminal oxidases in cells grown with two different carbon sources: glucose and biphenyl. We identified...
متن کاملAnalysis of bph operon from the polychlorinated biphenyl-degrading strain of Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707.
The entire nucleotide sequences (6.8 kilobase pairs) of the bphABC genes and their products involved in the initial dioxygenation and ring-meta-cleavage of biphenyls and polychlorinated biphenyls were determined. The first bphA gene starts about a 100 base pairs downstream from the transcriptional initiation site. The bphA region, which encodes a cluster of enzymes including biphenyl dioxygenas...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of the Polychlorinated Biphenyl Degrader Rhodococcus sp. WB1
Rhodococcus sp. WB1 is a polychlorinated biphenyl degrader which was isolated from contaminated soil in Zhejiang, China. Here, we present the complete genome sequence. The analysis of this genome indicated that a biphenyl-degrading gene cluster and several xenobiotic metabolism pathways are harbored.
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Rhodococcus ruber Strain P25, an Active Polychlorinated Biphenyl Degrader
We report the 5,728,255-bp draft genome sequence of Rhodococcus ruber P25, isolated from a soil polluted with halogenated aromatic compounds in the city of Perm, Russia. The strain degrades polychlorinated biphenyls and a broad range of aromatic compounds. It possesses genes that mediate the degradation of biphenyls/polychlorinated biphenyls, naphthalene, and monoaromatic compounds.
